SHOP LOOKS
Ever since I started my own capsule wardrobe I want to convince everyone else to get one -- they are such a good investment! I'm currently working on a lengthy post about my personal wardrobe and how I built it, but I wanted to show you all with this post how easy it is to create multiple looks with just a few separate pieces.
The looks above are just a few of the different styles you can create with just TEN pieces from Walmart. The key to a successful capsule wardrobe is to coordinate everything in a color scheme. With this one, I chose blacks, browns and added some leopard. There are only five looks put together right now, but you could easily double that by mixing and matching the pieces. Think about how much money you could save by making 12-15 outfits out of 10 pieces of clothing!
Another tip I would remember is to vary your pieces by style -- you want to incorporate casual and dressy to maximize how many looks you can create. For example, above I have a casual flat, a closed toe bootie, and an open toe bootie which are all super different and will add a specific vibe to each look. I also have a fancier faux fur vest and a more casual moto jacket. It all depends on your personal style and what you're trying to accomplish with your wardrobe. So if you're creating a work capsule you're going to want to add more blouses and heels whereas a weekend capsule has more freedom for casual looks and creativity.
I'm never searching for something to wear now that I have my own capsule wardrobe and I'm saving a lot more because I don't feel the need to add pieces all the time. Hopefully this inspires you to start adding some capsule pieces to your closet, I promise it's worth it! My longer post about my personal capsule wardrobe journey is coming soon but until then you can shop these Walmart pieces below.
