31 Facts for my 31st Birthday

Hey ya'll! Yesterday was my 31st birthday and at this age I'm so over celebrating. Last year for 30 was my last hurrah on birthday celebrations, but I wanted to do something fun and since I haven't really introduced myself to you all in a while I thought I would share 31 fun facts about me for my 31st birthday!

1. I currently live in northeast Ohio (directly in between Cleveland and Pittsburgh) but I'm a Cleveland fan all the way.

2. My husband's name is Jesse James, and yes, he is teased all the time for it!

3. We have been married for 4.5 years and have been together for 7.

4. I have a dog named Gimli (named after the Lord of the Rings Dwarf) and he is a boxer/lab mix.

5. Jesse and I are huge Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fans. We watch the LOTR movies at least once a year and I re-read the HP series all the time!

6. Reading is my favorite past time. My favorite genres are thriller/suspense, sci-f-/fantasy, and historical fiction.

7. I am still best friends with my girls from high school.

8. I lived in Manhattan for 3 years in college and it was the best decision I've ever made.

9. I originally planned on working in the fashion industry and interned at Cosmopolitan Magazine, Glamour Magazine and Valentino but ultimately decided it wasn't for me. But I obviously still love fashion!

9. I was a super picky eater when I was a child but now I will pretty much try/eat anything!

10. I have two daughters, Marlow is three and and Bellamy is one. Their birthdays are three days apart in November.

11. Both sides of my family are extremely Italian, but my maiden name is actually German (Offenbecher).

12. My parents divorced when I was in 7th grade. It was an extremely bad divorce but has made me strive to be different than my parents.

13. Both of my daughters were born via c-section. Shout out to all my c-section mamas out there!

14. I have a very liberal outlook on life. I basically believe that everyone should be able to live the way they want and the law shouldn't discriminate because of religion or any other reason. This isn't everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay.

15. My first car was a Dodge Neon named "Big Purple". Now I drive a Chevy Equinox AKA Mom car.

16. I was raised in the Catholic Church but I don't identify as any religion now that I'm older. I consider myself more spiritual than anything.

17. My husband bought me a yoga mat for Christmas years ago but I have yet to try yoga (whoops). I really will start someday!

18. I am definitely more confident as I age. I wish I could tell my 20 year old self to stop being so self conscious and care less about what others think.

19. I went to Marymount Manhattan College but got my degree in Communications from Kent State University, Go Flashes!

20. I was a cheerleader in high school but really enjoyed my time in choir and show choir the most. My one regret about high school is being too shy to try out for roles in musicals!

21. My password for all of my accounts growing up was 'Troy Bolton' LOLOLOL. No shame.

22. My favorite TV shows of all time are Lost, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Vampire Diaries and Game of Thrones.

23. If you follow me, you know that The Bachelor is my guilty pleasure and I watch every season!

24. I'm pretty much into all kinds of music (as cliche as that sounds) and I kind of just listen to whatever my mood wants at the time! Lately I've been really into Maren Morris.

25. I have a 12 (almost 13) year old step daughter named Lilly. I have been telling my husband to prepare himself for the dreaded teen years, but honestly she's a pretty chill kid and I think we might survive!

26. I'd much prefer to travel and experience things rather than have material items. I would love to stay in our quaint house for a while and spend our money on traveling more! Once our renovations are done of course.

27. If I had to choose a last meal, it would be breakfast food!

28. My enneagram type is 9w1. I'm a lazy peacekeeper but also a bit of a perfectionist who is way too hard on herself.

29. My dream job is to be an author. I've actually started writing multiple books but can't find the time to finish them.

30. My male celebrity crush is Michael Fassbender and my girl crush is Emma Watson.

31. I know people like to make fun of bloggers and influencers but I've found everyone in the community to be super friendly and supportive, not at all what I expected when I first started! I truly appreciate all the support I've gotten and the small friendships I've made along the way!

Hopefully this post gave you a little more insight into who I am as a person and you feel like you know me a little bit better. I can only hope that the next 31 years are as much of an adventure as the first 31 were!
